Front Axle Assembly

Hi all!

Decided that it would be easier to just replace the shaft than to replace the torn CV boots. Everything went well, good fit, Amazon part, EXCEPT, that the old shaft had this bearing cup. The bearing surface survived, but the metal seal got destroyed. I can't find this part on any diagram.

Does anyone have a part number or source for this?

That seal is curled right back like a sardine can lid no wonder it wasn't holding anything out. Rough call trying to match that up without a diagram since it looks like it rides separate from the shaft itself rather than being part of the CV kit. Did the old cup come off the knuckle side or was it pressed onto the shaft itself? That might help narrow down whether you're chasing a hub part or an axle part.

The seal was fine until I tried to get it off to re-use it!. It is in two parts (although I suspect it is one actual part), the cone where the bearings ride, and that metal lip.
I've done this on another axle when the splines stripped and it came right off, this one had some corrosion I think. If you look at the hub parts diagram it isn't there, neither is it on the shaft part diagram. The bearing seal kit is rubber and is shaped like a conventional seal.
