2002 400 4x4 shuts off randomly

My 2002 400 4x4 randomly cuts off like someone flipped the kill switch. No warning, no misfire, nothing at all and it just shuts off. I flip the key off then back on and it fires right up again. Don't know if this is all too relevant but it happens cold or warm. I already cleaned the connectors and checked the grounds but can't force it to fail while testing. Any ssuggestions what else to check?

That sounds frustrating! you might want to look at the ignition switch or fuel pump relay, both can cause sudden shutoffs.Hope you get it sorted soon!

Yeah, possibly a failing ignition switch or a loose relay. maybe even a bad coil or ECU issue..

Thank you all for your responses. So what I did is I checked the ignition switch wiring for signs of corrosion/looseness and found that there is a cracked wire near the bars that would short out just right. Closing this thread for now. Thanks again.
